There are a number of ways to become a virtual expert about traveling with a wheelchair or scooter.

Make your reservations for your wheelchair/scooter accessible van before you make your airline reservations.  This will ensure that you have anaccessible vehicle at your destination.

When you make your airline reservation, let them know the kind of chair you have and get instructions from them on where to take your chair once you have arrived at the airport.

Ramp or Lift

Tie-Down Systems

Four Point tie-down systems are used in the front passenger and mid-section of all minivans and full-sized vans.

 

OCCUPANCY

Minivans can accommodate maximally two wheelchair users or one scooter in the mid-section.  There is a bench seat in the rear for three ambulatory passengers.  Wheelchair users can stay in their wheelchair (manual or power) in the front passenger area.

Full-size vans can accommodate two wheelchairs or one scooter and up to five additional passengers.  Both types of vehicles offer plenty of luggage space.
